Minho from SHINee conveyed his longing for the late Jonghyun on what would have been his birthday.
On April 8, SHINee's official social media account shared a post honoring Jonghyun with the caption “04.08 #JONGHYUN #SHINee,” featuring a photo of the singer smiling onstage.
Minho also took to his personal social media account that day to pay tribute to Jonghyun. He tagged Jonghyun’s account, writing, “Happy birthday. I always miss you,” showcasing their past photo together and touching fans' hearts.
SM Entertainment and SHINee members have consistently commemorated Jonghyun every year on his birthday and the anniversary of his passing. Last year, the SHINee members garnered attention by introducing a set of five friendship rings, one for each member including Jonghyun.
Fans also participated in honoring Jonghyun with hashtags like “Jonghyun’s 35th Spring,” leaving heartfelt comments such as “I hope it’s a birthday filled with love again this year.”
Jonghyun rose to fame with SHINee in 2008, known for hit tracks such as “Replay,” “Love Like Oxygen,” “Lucifer,” “Dream Girl,” and “View.” His solo career began in 2015, producing popular songs like “Déjà-Boo” and “Crazy (Guilty Pleasure).” Unfortunately, on December 18, 2017, Jonghyun passed away at 27.
In his honor, his family established the nonprofit foundation 'Shiny,' utilizing his music royalties to support emerging artists and various initiatives.
