Sunny, a former member of Girls' Generation who parted ways with SM Entertainment, was recently seen at A2O Entertainment, a company established by her uncle, producer Lee Soo Man.
A video titled "A2O Trainees ‘A2O Summer Training Camp 2024’ Highlights" was posted on A2O Entertainment's official YouTube channel on the 7th. This video showcased A2O Entertainment trainees traveling to the United States for a training camp, with footage of various training exercises. Sunny made an appearance in the video, visiting the trainees’ recording studio, which drew the attention of viewers.
In the video, Sunny was depicted sitting in front of a console box, displaying a warm smile while observing the trainees' recording sessions. This led to speculation among netizens that Sunny, who had previously left SM Entertainment, could be supporting her uncle Lee Soo Man in music production.
Sunny is the daughter of Lee Soo Young, Lee Soo Man's brother, who is the CEO of Starworld, an entertainment company. Starworld was involved in producing the girl group Sugar in the early 2000s, which included members like Hwang Jung Eum, Ayumi, and Park Soo Jin.
A2O Entertainment, which was founded by Lee Soo Man, is currently headquartered in the United States. Lee Soo Man sold his shares to HYBE in February 2023 and entered a non-compete agreement that restricts him from producing music in Korea for three years. Consequently, A2O is concentrating on training and nurturing talent internationally.
Although Sunny terminated her exclusive contract with SM Entertainment in August 2023, she continues to be active with Girls' Generation.
