BTS member Jungkook has achieved a 'Gold' certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for his popular song 'Seven.' Exceeding 400,000 units sold in the UK, the track has attained BRIT Certified Gold status in the Singles classification, marking it as the first K-pop debut solo track to receive this recognition.
The BRIT Certified award is determined by album and single sales within the UK. Jungkook has previously been granted Silver certifications for five songs—"Standing Next to You," "Seven," "3D," "Left and Right," and 'GOLDEN'—each surpassing 200,000 units sold, setting a new record for the highest number of Silver-certified singles by a K-pop solo artist.
Jungkook's inaugural solo album ‘GOLDEN’ has also reached a significant milestone as the studio album by an Asian artist with the most Silver-certified tracks (three in total) in the UK—"Standing Next to You," "Seven," and "3D." Additionally, ‘GOLDEN’ has become the first K-pop solo album to achieve a Silver certification in the BRIT Certified Albums category.
‘Seven’ made its debut at No. 3 on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, one of the world's primary pop charts alongside Billboard. Remaining on the chart for 14 consecutive weeks, it holds the record for the longest run by a K-pop solo track. Jungkook also made history by having four songs on the UK Top 100 simultaneously for two weeks in a row ("Standing Next to You," "Seven," "3D," and "TOO MUCH").
Moreover, the official music video for ‘Seven’ has recently surpassed 500 million views on YouTube.
