After White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett suggested in an interview that President Donald Trump was contemplating a 90-day tariff pause on all countries except China, Wall Street's main indexes sharply changed direction and surged. By 10:20 a.m., the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 333.50 points to 38,614.49, an increase of 0.87%. Additionally, the S&P 500 rose by 79.99 points, marking a 1.69% gain to 5,154.07, and the Nasdaq Composite surged by 362.69 points, reflecting a 2.33% increase to 15,950.47.
