Prada, the Italian luxury brand, is currently considering the possibility of acquiring Versace, a smaller competitor, with a decision expected to be made this week. The potential takeover would bring together two renowned names in the Italian fashion industry. Reports suggest that the deal may be announced on Thursday, April 10, with the price for Versace possibly reduced to 1 billion euros, lower than originally estimated. Capri Holdings' CEO, John Idol, is likely to visit Milan soon to discuss the acquisition. Prada was granted exclusive access to Versace's financial data in February, amid ongoing negotiations that have been complicated by new tariffs introduced by President Donald Trump. Versace, now led by Chief Creative Officer Dario Vitale, has been operating at a loss since being acquired by Capri Holdings in 2018.
