Ja Rule stepped into the realm of Hip-Hop entrepreneurs in 2024 by launching Amber & Opal, a whiskey tailored for both seasoned drinkers and newcomers to the spirit.

Teaming up with Herb Rice, Sandy Sandiford, and Kelvin Barton, the rapper co-founded this honey-infused rye whiskey to tap into the success achieved by established Hip-Hop figures like Diddy and Jay-Z. The Maryland-based blend combines two-year-aged straight rye with orange blossom honey, smoky black tea, and a blend of warming spices such as cinnamon, ginger, and fig.

Amber & Opal aims to strike a balance between tradition and variety, catering to both whiskey enthusiasts and those exploring the category for the first time. Ja Rule highlighted that the whiskey offers a smooth finish, enhanced by the addition of a rare Chinese black tea known as Lapsang Souchong. The brand's goal is to provide a welcoming introduction to whiskey that appeals to a wide range of consumers, offering a unique flavor profile with notes of cinnamon, orange, and a smoked finish.
