Lee Seung Gi, a singer and actor, has successfully settled a lawsuit against his past agency, Hook Entertainment, now called Chorokbaement Entertainment, due to unresolved settlement fees. The Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of Lee Seung Gi, ordering Chorokbaement Entertainment to pay him 581,470,000 KRW (approximately $403,000) and dismissing any further claims for fees. This decision was reached after Lee Seung Gi filed the lawsuit, alleging that he had not received proper earnings from 137 songs he released during his time at Hook Entertainment since 2004.

Initially, Chorokbaement Entertainment paid Lee Seung Gi a sum of 540 million KRW (around $374,000), which included prior payments, unpaid fees, and delayed interest. However, the agency later contended that they had settled all debts by paying an additional 410 million KRW (about $283,950). Lee Seung Gi refuted this claim, stating that the total music revenue indicated the settlement was incomplete. He personally appeared in court on November 15, expressing concern over the misleading documents in the case and urging fair treatment for artists facing similar issues.

The court's decision, which had been postponed and eventually delivered on April 4, marked the end of a legal battle that had seen various twists, with Hook Entertainment undergoing a name change during the proceedings to Chorokbaement Entertainment. This transition was part of a broader restructuring effort following the acquisition of the company by Q Capital Partners, a private equity firm. Chorokbaement Entertainment had been actively revamping its management team to enhance operations and stimulate growth opportunities.
