Japan Keeps Options Open in Response to Trump’s Tariffs

Japanese Trade Minister Yoji Muto stated that Japan is considering all possible actions in response to the tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. Muto expressed disappointment at the tariffs and emphasized the need to make careful yet bold decisions promptly to determine the best course of action for Japan. He confirmed plans to create a task force to assess the impact of the tariffs, particularly the proposed 24% tariff on Japan. Despite the imminent 25% tariff on car imports, Muto raised concerns about the tariffs' compliance with the World Trade Organization's regulations.
