Knownwell, a primary care company, announced that it will offer health and weight-management services on Eli Lilly's direct-to-consumer online healthcare platform, LillyDirect. Patients using LillyDirect will be able to access personalized services from knownwell, including in-person and virtual primary care, nutrition counseling, and behavioral health services that are covered by insurance. Eli Lilly recently expanded LillyDirect to include telehealth providers for diagnosing and caring for patients with Alzheimer's disease. Telehealth firms have been collaborating with LillyDirect to provide access to Lilly's weight-loss drug, Zepbound. These partnerships aim to address the demand for weight-loss drugs due to restrictions faced by the compounded drugs industry. While there was previously a shortage of Zepbound and its competitor Wegovy, cheaper copies of the drugs were being sold before the branded drugs were no longer on the FDA's shortage list. Lilly mentioned that they are continuously adding independent care providers to LillyDirect to enhance patient choices and access to quality care.
