Noel Accepts Sympathy at Father’s Funeral While Wearing Mourning Armband

Former lawmaker Chang Je Won’s funeral arrangements were held at Inje University Haeundae Paik Hospital in Busan on April 2. His son, rapper Noel, who was in mourning attire, greeted and cried with guests while wearing the traditional mourning armband.

The funeral commenced at 10:30 AM on April 2, allowing the public to offer their condolences to the family. The funeral service is scheduled for 9:00 AM on April 4, with the final resting place at Busan's Shiloam Memorial Park.

Noel recently shared his feelings with fans in a KakaoTalk chat, expressing the difficulty of announcing his father's passing. He asked for minimal worry and reassured everyone that he would bid farewell properly, without needing words of understanding.

Following his father’s death, Noel posted a heartfelt letter for fans, which was later deleted due to negative comments. His agency, Indigo Music, pledged to safeguard the artist by managing his content.

Former lawmaker Chang Je Won was discovered dead in an office building in Seoul on March 31. His suicide note contained messages apologizing to his family and expressing his love for them.

Chang Je Won had been under police investigation since January after a former secretary accused him of sexual assault in 2015 during his time as a university vice president. The accuser had planned a press conference on April 1, which was canceled due to Chang Je Won’s untimely death, resulting in the closure of the case with no further action.
