Meta Platforms has entered into a multi-year agreement to be the primary "official fan technology partner" of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The CEO of UFC joined the board of Meta Platforms in January.
According to UFC, under this partnership, Meta will enhance the experience for UFC fans through its services. Threads, Meta's text-based platform, will become UFC's official social media partner. Meta's branding will be displayed in UFC's Octagon ring during pay-per-view and "Fight Night" events, along with various broadcast features and unique in-arena fan experiences.
The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
Meta's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, shares a passion for mixed martial arts with UFC CEO Dana White. White, who was appointed to Meta's board along with two others earlier this year, has a close relationship with U.S. President Donald Trump and had endorsed him at the Republican National Convention in July.
