YouTuber Lee Jin Ho has been instructed to halt any broadcasts relating to the deceased actress Kim Sae Ron for a period of three months due to a court ruling, which deemed his actions as constituting a stalking offense and imposed a legal action with immediate effect.
Kwon Young Chan, the head of the Korea Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association, revealed in an interview with CBS No Cut News on March 31st that the court had acknowledged Lee Jin Ho's stalking crime and issued a temporary restraining order. Consequently, Lee Jin Ho is now prohibited from featuring any content regarding Kim Sae Ron and her family on his YouTube channel for the next three months.
Furthermore, Kwon Young Chan mentioned that the family of the late actress intends to bring forth an additional defamation lawsuit against Lee Jin Ho for disseminating untrue information in his recent broadcasts. This temporary directive is a development resulting from the continuous legal measures taken by the family against the YouTuber.
In a previous incident, Kim Sae Ron's family had sued Lee Jin Ho for defamation, alleging that he had been spreading unsubstantiated details about the deceased actress. Despite the legal action, Lee Jin Ho persisted in revealing unverified information about Kim Sae Ron and her family's personal lives. The grieving family lodged another complaint against him on March 27, accusing him of violating the Act on Punishment of Stalking Crimes and sought a provisional measure, which was granted by the court.
The sudden passing of Kim Sae Ron in February 2025 had deeply saddened her fans and the public. Known for her work as a child actress, Kim Sae Ron gained popularity for her role in the film 'The Man from Nowhere' and featured in various projects such as 'A Brand New Life,' 'A Girl at My Door,' among others.
Lee Jin Ho, recognized for his content focusing on celebrities, has sparked controversy repeatedly through his coverage of Kim Sae Ron. Legal experts perceive this case as potentially establishing a precedent for safeguarding the reputation of deceased individuals and their families.
