G-Dragon's 'Übermensch' world tour for 2025 debuted in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province with a stunning start, yet caused controversy due to the inappropriate conduct of certain audience members.
The highly anticipated concert by G-Dragon attracted a full house of 60,000 attendees over two days on March 29, marking his first solo concert in eight years. Nevertheless, the show faced delays as the weather worsened, resulting in some fans having to endure long waits in the cold.
Initially set to commence at 6:30 PM, the start time was pushed back to 7:00 PM on short notice by organizers citing strong winds and safety issues. Even though the revised schedule indicated a 7:00 PM start, the performance did not kick off as planned, and G-Dragon only appeared on stage at 7:43 PM. He apologized to the audience for the delay, acknowledging the chilly weather conditions.
After the concert concluded, discussions arose online when photos emerged showing litter strewn across the venue, including discarded merchandise boxes and plastic bags. This sparked diverse reactions among internet users, with some questioning the availability of sufficient trash bins and others condemning attendees for their behavior, expressing disappointment over the lack of manners.
In a positive gesture, G-Dragon intends to donate 300 million KRW (~204,415 USD) from the concert's earnings to support wildfire recovery endeavors in North and South Gyeongsang provinces.
