SEC and Musk Set Deadline for Billionaire’s Response to Lawsuit, according to Filing
/Article

In a joint motion filed on Monday, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Elon Musk have proposed a response deadline for the lawsuit the SEC filed against him in January. The lawsuit was filed just six days before Donald Trump took office as President, appointing Musk to oversee the federal workforce revamp. The SEC alleged that Musk delayed revealing his significant ownership in Twitter in 2022 before later acquiring the social media platform. Musk is disputing the validity of the return of service filed by the SEC. To avoid further disagreement, Musk has agreed to respond to the SEC's complaint by June 6. As of now, there has been no immediate response from the SEC, Musk, or his legal representative.
