United Airlines Receives FAA Approval for First Aircrafts Equipped with Starlink Technology

United Airlines announced on Monday that the Federal Aviation Administration has given the green light for its initial Starlink-equipped aircraft model. The airline is gearing up for its first commercial flight utilizing this technology scheduled for May.

The FAA has granted a Supplemental Type Certificate for the Embraer 175, with plans for the maiden commercial flight to take place on a United Express Embraer 175. United is based in Chicago and is aiming to equip approximately 40 regional jets with Starlink each month. The goal is to have all 300 planes of this type outfitted with the technology by the end of the year. Collaboration between United and Starlink will continue to expand, seeking FAA approval to install Starlink on more than 16 different United aircraft models.

The stock market data for United Airlines (UAL) shows a closing price of 70.23 (down 4.49%) as of March 28 at 4:00:01 PM EDT.
