Renault Group announced on Monday its decision to purchase the remaining 51% stake in Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Ltd from Nissan Motor Corp. This move will grant Renault complete ownership of the manufacturing facility based in Chennai, India. The plant, which started its operations in 2010, was initially owned with Renault having a 30% stake and Nissan holding 70%. In 2023, Nissan's ownership was reduced to 51% following an agreement to jointly invest $600 million to produce six new vehicle models in India.
