/Article

Sean Kingston has broken his silence for the first time following his and his mother Janice Turner's conviction on charges of wire fraud and conspiracy. The singer spoke out on Instagram after being found guilty in a federal fraud case involving more than $1 million in stolen goods and services. Kingston, in his Instagram Stories, shared a brief message over the weekend, hinting at his struggles amidst the legal ordeal. The verdict was delivered in Florida after a relatively short deliberation, following accusations of orchestrating a fraudulent scheme to acquire luxury items through fake wire transfers and forged documents. While Kingston, 34, remains under house arrest with electronic monitoring, Turner, 62, was detained immediately. Prosecutors believe Turner poses a flight risk due to her past criminal record and characterized her as the mastermind behind the operation. The duo, described as "masters of deception" during the trial's closing arguments, face a maximum sentence of 20 years for each of the counts of conspiracy and wire fraud. Sentencing is scheduled for July 11, 2025.
