G-Dragon has officially apologized for the delay of his concert, attributing it to deteriorating weather conditions. On March 30th, Galaxy Corporation, representing G-Dragon, issued a statement addressing the postponement of the ‘G-DRAGON 2025 WORLD TOUR [Übermensch] IN KOREA, presented by Coupang Play’ held on the 29th at Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi Province.
The agency explained that the show was first delayed for safety reasons due to strong wind gusts on-site, leading to a subsequent delay. The decision was influenced by extreme weather circumstances, such as sub-zero temperatures the day before, sudden snow and rain in the morning, and powerful winds in the afternoon. G-Dragon closely monitored the conditions throughout the day, including during rehearsals and the 2 PM sound check.
Galaxy Corporation stressed that the delays were imperative for audience safety and to avert potential hazards associated with the stage equipment. They reiterated their regret and gratitude to the fans for enduring the cold. Originally scheduled to start at 6:30 PM, a notice was issued at 1 PM regarding a 30-minute delay. Nonetheless, the show commenced at 7:14 PM, 44 minutes after the updated start time, without an initial explanation or apology, prompting negative reactions from the crowd.
By 7 PM, temperatures were approximately 2°C (35.6°F) in Goyang City with strong winds, as around 30,000 attendees waited for G-Dragon's appearance. The concert eventually began with an opening video, followed by G-Dragon's performance. While he didn't apologize at the beginning, he later acknowledged the delay, stating, “The weather is very cold, so I’m sorry for starting late.”
