Johnny Somali, the American streamer who stirred controversy in South Korea by ridiculing the 'Statue of Peace' and causing disruptions in a convenience store, has been observed participating in a rally held by far-right protestors.
Recently, on March 28, pictures of Johnny Somali circulating around Anguk Station close to the Constitutional Court from the earlier day were shared on an online forum.
Reports indicate that Somali was holding a protest placard provided by supporters of President Yoon Suk Yeol and chanting anti-Chinese Communist Party slogans. On that same day, he reportedly faced a head injury when a passerby identified him near Jongno 5-ga Station.
Online users expressed dismay, suggesting that it is against the law for foreigners to engage in political demonstrations. Some questioned whether he now resides in South Korea and criticized his reckless behavior.
In a prior incident last October, Somali faced legal consequences for causing disturbances in a Seoul convenience store. He had disrupted operations by playing loud music, deliberately spilling food, and harassing employees. His disruptive actions extended to carrying pungent fish in public places, creating a disturbance on public transportation, and other misconduct.
Moreover, his inappropriate conduct towards the 'Statue of Peace,' a monument dedicated to the victims of wartime sexual slavery, during a YouTube livestream had sparked outrage nationwide.
