The CEO of Ryanair, Michael O'Leary, expressed satisfaction with the relationship with Boeing's new leadership and stated that Boeing had made a commitment to provide alternative aircraft if the new 737 MAX 10 is not certified this year. O'Leary mentioned that Ryanair is expecting the delivery of the first 15 MAX 10s in 2027 but Boeing has assured to supply additional MAX 8s for summer 2027 if the MAX 10 does not receive certification. The MAX 10 is the largest model in Boeing's narrowbody jet family, and approval from regulators is pending due to delays related to safety concerns. Boeing has assigned Mike Sinnett to oversee this and other delayed programs. O'Leary expressed confidence in Boeing's current leadership team and their ability to meet delivery timelines by 2027. Despite some adjustments in aircraft delivery schedules for this year, Ryanair is still facing a shortage of 30 planes this summer. O'Leary disclosed that Ryanair has agreed to accept 25 aircraft between August and October this year, which is unusual as the airline typically avoids taking on planes after the peak summer period. Boeing's production of the 737 MAX has been limited by regulators, but the company aims to increase production levels gradually. O'Leary revealed that Boeing has shown improvement in aircraft quality and delivery efficiency over the past year.
