The chairman of Chinese electric vehicle company BYD shared with analysts that they aim to double their sales outside China to surpass 800,000 cars by 2025. The company plans to address tariffs by establishing local car assembly operations. In 2024, BYD sold 417,204 units internationally, and it anticipates a significant increase in market share in the UK due to the country's openness to competitive Chinese products. Opportunities for rapid growth are also seen in Latin American and Southeast Asian markets, where Chinese brands are well-received. BYD has not yet responded to a request for comment as of Wednesday.
