Five members from the group fromis_9, namely Song Hayoung, Park Jiwon, Lee Nagyung, Lee Chaeyoung, and Baek Jiheon, have regrouped under the new label ASND (Ascend), sparking curiosity among fans about whether they will retain the original group name.

ASND released a teaser video on March 26th KST on their official account, hinting at a fresh start. The video featured the reunited members sharing heartfelt sentiments about embracing new beginnings and feeling loved and appreciated. Fans responded with excitement and optimism, expressing joy that fromis_9 is making a comeback.

ASND announced earlier this year that the five members had signed contracts and were gearing up for various activities in 2025. Discussions were ongoing with their former agency, Pledis Entertainment, regarding the use of the fromis_9 name. ASND teased about an upcoming album release and a solo concert to showcase the members' growth and passion for music.

Originally formed in 2017 through 'Idol School' and officially debuting in 2018, fromis_9 had eight members. When their contracts with Pledis Entertainment ended in 2023, the group split, with five members joining ASND while the other three opted for individual pursuits, including Lee Saerom preparing for an acting career.
