Actor Kim Nam Gil has revealed the launch of the second phase of the 'Together on the Road' campaign, dedicated to supporting young artists who are gearing up for independence. Kim Nam Gil aims to provide ongoing help instead of one-time donations to nurture these individuals.
The cultural arts NGO Gilstory announced the commencement of the campaign on March 25, welcoming applications for the initiative until April 9. 'Together on the Road' seeks to empower budding artists facing challenges in showcasing their talents and allowing them a platform for expression. Last year's successful debut of the project has spurred an expansion for this year's edition.
The latest round of the campaign aims to select 20 cultural and arts creators who will each receive a grant of 3 million KRW (~2,050 USD) to support their projects. In addition to financial assistance, the chosen artists will benefit from networking opportunities with industry experts and guidance throughout their creative journey.
The artists' completed works will be displayed at an exhibition towards the end of the year, aligning with the theme "Here I Am," which emphasizes practical experience and elevating creative pursuits into sustainable professions. Kim Nam Gil expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative by highlighting the growth potential he witnessed in the previous cohort of artists.
The '2025 Together on the Road' initiative is targeted at independent artists between the ages of 20 and 34, with further information available on the Gilstory website.
