Kim Soo Hyun's Taiwan fan meeting, his anticipated first public appearance post-controversy, has been called off. The cancellation was confirmed by 7-Eleven Taiwan, the event's host, via social media on March 25. Due to scheduling conflicts, Kim Soo Hyun will not be able to attend the fan meeting planned for March 30, leading to ongoing ticket refunds. Instead, he was set to participate in an event at the Kaohsiung Cherry Blossom Festival on the same day.

Notably, the actor faced allegations of being in a six-year relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron from when she was underage, sparking accusations of grooming. Although Kim Soo Hyun admitted to their past relationship, he emphasized that they started dating after she became an adult. The controversy surrounding his personal life added a significant spotlight to the fan meeting, making it his first public appearance since the issue arose.

The cancellation not only impacts the fan meeting but also affects the release of products featuring Kim Soo Hyun's image by the hosting company. Estimates suggest a penalty of around 1.3 billion KRW due to the canceled event. Furthermore, legal issues with HOVERLAB on YouTube and Disney+'s delay of the drama 'Knock-off,' where Kim Soo Hyun was set to appear, have deepened the ramifications. The production budget of 'Knock-off' is reportedly high, and withdrawing from the project could have substantial financial consequences. Uncertainty looms over his international commitments, raising concerns about potential penalties.
