Kim Soo Hyun's planned fan meeting in Taiwan has been called off due to accusations related to his alleged underage relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron. The cancellation was shared on Taiwan's 7-Eleven Instagram page on March 25.

The announcement conveyed that due to conflicting schedules, Kim Soo Hyun would not be able to attend the fan meeting set for March 30. The post expressed regrets for any inconvenience caused and mentioned that refunds for the event would be processed within three business days of the announcement, with the points remaining valid until December 31, 2026.

The fan meeting was part of the 'Kaohsiung Cherry Blossom Festival,' organized by Taiwan's 7-Eleven, where Kim Soo Hyun, the brand's ambassador, was supposed to appear. The event, which selected 200 attendees through a lottery, attracted considerable attention both nationally and internationally. Despite the anticipation surrounding Kim Soo Hyun's first public appearance amidst the allegations involving Kim Sae Ron, the event was ultimately canceled.

The controversy emerged when Kim Sae Ron's family alleged, through the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute (HoverLab) on March 10, that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron had been in a relationship since 2016 when Kim Sae Ron was 15 years old. Evidence including letters and photos was presented. Kim Soo Hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, refuted these claims on March 14, stating that their relationship began in 2019 when Kim Sae Ron was an adult. The agency also clarified financial support they provided to Kim Sae Ron.

Gold Medalist took legal action on March 20 against Kim Sae Ron's family, alleging that explicit photos of Kim Soo Hyun were distributed without consent, violating laws on sexual crimes. The lawsuit targeted the operator of Garosero Research Institute, Kim Se Eui, and an undisclosed individual claiming to be Kim Sae Ron's aunt.
