Commencing today, the 34th Seoul Music Awards has initiated fan voting, as confirmed by the Seoul Music Awards Organizing Committee. The ceremony is scheduled for June 21 at Inspire Arena, and fans are anticipated to actively participate in voting to influence the outcome.
Voting options are available through the official voting app K-POP SEOUL, along with My One Pick and Fandom Chart apps. Voting coincides with the release of the nominees for various categories such as the Main Prize, Rookie of the Year, Popularity Award, and Hallyu Special Award.
Significantly, awards like the Popularity Award (domestic), Hallyu Special Award (international), and K-POP SEOUL CHOICE (Group/Solo) are entirely determined by fan votes, attracting massive attention from K-pop fans worldwide.
The voting process consists of two rounds. The initial round spans from March 24 at 12:00 PM to April 12 at 11:59 PM, followed by the second round from April 21 at 12:00 PM to May 10 at 11:59 PM. The final results will be disclosed during the ceremony.
Nominees were chosen based on their albums and songs released between January 2024 and March 2025, utilizing data from the Circle Chart to identify artists who made a significant impact on the K-pop scene during that timeframe.
Moreover, the Rising Star category, which began voting on February 24, is progressing. From the initial 60 teams nominated, 30 have advanced to the next round, with the top 10 finalists to be decided following the period ending on the 24th.
The final contenders for the Rising Star category include VVUP, POW, 82MAJOR, YOUNITE, TNX, ONE PACT, Fantasy Boys, and TEMPEST. The final round of voting for this category will occur from May 19 to June 1.
Established by the Seoul Music Awards Organizing Committee, the Rising Star category aims to provide performance opportunities to idol groups from smaller entertainment agencies. Eligible groups must be in their third year post their debut (between January 2022 and December 2024).
Since its inception in 1990, the Seoul Music Awards has been a prominent music award ceremony in South Korea, significantly contributing to the global rise of K-pop.
