Federal regulators are looking into around 1.3 million Ford F-150 trucks made between 2015 and 2017 following complaints from consumers. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration mentioned that drivers reported sudden downshifting in the vehicles, occasionally leading to the rear wheels locking up. Ford had recently recalled over 240,000 Explorer models due to seatbelt issues. The concerns with the F-150s have prompted an inquiry, focusing on instances where the trucks unexpectedly downshifted while driving at high speeds. Ford stated that the problem is related to the six-speed transmission and they are cooperating with NHTSA during the investigation. This investigation follows Ford's recent recalls of Explorer models and some Bronco Sport and Maverick vehicles. Ford's shares experienced a rise of over 1% on Monday.
