Tesla has announced that it will launch its smart driving-assistance feature in China once all necessary software approvals have been obtained. The confirmation was made through the company's customer support Weibo account, following reports on Chinese social media that the free trial of Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) service in China, scheduled from March 17 to April 16, had been temporarily halted. The delay was a result of new regulations from China's industry ministry in late February, which require regulatory approval for over-the-air software upgrades related to autonomous driving.
