The STARZ network has acquired a docuseries about a renowned Atlanta strip club, which was produced nearly two years ago and is being executive produced by Drake and Jermaine Dupri. The series, titled Magic City: An American Fantasy, delves into the club's significant cultural impact on the rap industry since its establishment in 1985. Creator and executive producer Cole Brown's creation is set to debut this summer. Dupri expressed his attachment to the club and its evolution over the years, emphasizing the importance of narrating its story accurately. The series, which was first shown at SXSW, features a notable lineup of executive producers, including Drake's DreamCrew Entertainment, Jermaine Dupri, and actress Jami Gertz. During STARZ's announcement of acquiring the docuseries, Dupri sparked controversy with tweets about Drake's strong influence on DJs.
