In June 2022, Trouble's murder case was resolved with his suspected killer being detained without bond since the arrest in the same year. The individual accused of the crime entered a plea agreement and will serve a 20-year jail term for voluntary manslaughter concerning the shooting of Trouble, also known as Mariel Semonte Orr. Jones accepted this deal on the day of his trial's jury selection, avoiding charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during a felony, criminal damage to property, and family battery. The incident took place at an apartment complex in Conyers, where Trouble was shot and later died in the hospital. The altercation was connected to a domestic issue involving the woman residing in the apartment and her ex-boyfriend, the perpetrator. Jones barged into the apartment, leading to a confrontation with Trouble that resulted in the fatal shooting. Investigators pieced together the events through witness statements and footage, ultimately locating and apprehending Jones with the help of surveillance videos and testimonies. Sheriff Eric Levett highlighted that Jones surrendered himself to the authorities days after being advised to do so by his mother.
