ADOR is preparing to send its team to show support to NJZ (NewJeans) at their upcoming concert in Hong Kong, amidst an ongoing legal dispute concerning the management and operations of the group.
The Seoul Central District Court's 60th Civil Division, overseen by Judge Kim Sang Hoon, ruled in favor of ADOR's petition for an injunction to maintain its position as NJZ (NewJeans)' agency and to stop the group from pursuing independent advertising deals.
Although there were concerns that the Hong Kong event might get canceled following the court's decision, where NJZ (NewJeans) is set to perform at 'ComplexCon' on March 23, ADOR intends to stand by the group by dispatching its staff to assist at the concert. ADOR also plans to ask the event management to promote the group as NewJeans instead of NJZ.
Despite NJZ (NewJeans) informing ADOR on November 29, 2024, that they were ending their exclusive contract, the court’s ruling has limited the group's independent activities, such as music releases and advertising agreements. The court's decision safeguards ADOR’s agency status with NJZ (NewJeans) and bans the group from engaging in any independent music or commercial endeavors without ADOR's involvement.
ADOR's commitment to supporting NJZ (NewJeans) at their Hong Kong concert suggests efforts to maintain stability in the group’s public engagements, amid unresolved legal disagreements between ADOR and NJZ (NewJeans). The final outcome of the legal dispute between the two parties awaits further developments.
