Heathrow Airport in London Closed on Friday Because of Power Failure
/Article

London's Heathrow airport is set to close on Friday due to a fire causing a major power outage. This incident has disrupted the operations of one of the busiest airports in the world, impacting the travel schedules of hundreds of thousands of individuals. The airport operator confirmed the power outage was a result of a fire at an electrical substation supplying the airport. Passengers have been advised not to go to the airport and to contact their airlines for updates. Heathrow, which hosts airlines like British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, manages a large volume of flights and passengers daily. As a consequence of the shutdown, some flights have been rerouted, such as a Qantas Airways Ltd. flight bound for Paris instead of its original destination, Perth.
