Kraken, a cryptocurrency exchange, announced on Thursday the acquisition of futures trading platform NinjaTrader in a deal worth $1.5 billion. The acquisition aims to diversify its asset offerings and attract more users. The transaction is anticipated to be finalized in the first half of 2025.

Established in 2003, NinjaTrader offers a retail futures trading platform to around 2 million traders through desktop and mobile devices.
