According to Ofcom, the UK plans to promote competition in high-speed broadband services to expand full-fibre connectivity to 96% of locations by 2027. To achieve this, the regulator will impose a limit on the prices that BT's Openreach can charge retail providers for speeds of up to 80Mbit/s, a significant increase from the current 40Mbit/s.
