The prosecution is pushing for a 3 years and 6 months prison term for Kim Ho Joong, a 33-year-old singer. The Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Appeal Division 5-3 convened a hearing on March 19 to address Kim Ho Joong's appeal in a case involving dangerous driving causing injury under the Special Act.

The prosecution urged the dismissal of the appeal and upholding of the initial 3 years and 6 months sentence.

In contrast, Kim Ho Joong's defense team argued that the initial sentence was excessively harsh, highlighting his clean record and the agreement he reached with the victim. They refuted media claims about him using the "Alcohol loading method" to evade drunk-driving charges, asserting it was a misconception.

In his closing statement, Kim Ho Joong expressed remorse, stating he reflected on his actions while in detention and vowed not to repeat his offense. He acknowledged his wrongdoing and aimed to turn his life around.

Kim Ho Joong stands accused of causing an alcohol-induced accident in Gangnam, Seoul on May 9 last year, where he collided with a taxi and fled the scene. Initially denying the drunk driving accusations, he confessed after 10 days, though the charge was dropped due to the inability to determine his blood alcohol level at the time of the incident.

The court scheduled the second trial verdict for Kim Ho Joong on the 25th of the following month at 2 PM.
