A video on YouTube showing NMIXX's Haewon interacting with elementary school students in Daechi-dong, Seoul has stirred up controversy due to its emphasis on wealth and social status.

On February 27, the YouTube channel 'Workman' posted a video featuring Haewon working as a part-timer at a toast shop in Daechi-dong. In the video, Haewon asked the young customers if they lived in Daechi-dong. When one replied that they lived in Apgujeong at Hyundai Apartment, she seemed surprised, as Apgujeong is known as one of the priciest residential areas in South Korea. The video also had a caption indicating "Daechi Kids Background Check."

The controversy heightened when Haewon inquired if the student's father was a doctor. Upon receiving a positive response, the production team jokingly encouraged the student to confess their crush. A caption at that moment said, "Alpha Male Confirmed Early," referring to a dominant figure.

This portrayal of linking parental wealth and occupation to relationship confidence sparked criticism by reinforcing class consciousness among children. The video faced backlash online, with netizens expressing concerns about the impact of such content on kids, including the creation of harmful stereotypes based on family backgrounds and the promotion of social hierarchy.

Critics also highlighted the inappropriateness of discussing children's family backgrounds in such a manner, noting that it could instill negative values in them. As the controversy unfolds, there are calls for the show to take responsibility for perpetuating these narratives.
