Comedian Shin Giru denounced the proliferation of harmful fake news about her. She took to social media on March 18 KST to express her anger, sharing a screenshot of a fabricated news article with a headline suggesting she had passed away due to weight-related issues, accompanied by an image of white chrysanthemums symbolizing mourning in Korea.
Despite her fury, Shin Giru humorously remarked that while she could brush off predictions about her future, the fake news was too much. She assured everyone of her well-being by mentioning her normal blood pressure and recent enjoyment of lamb skewers and tomato egg stir-fry.
She directly criticized those responsible for spreading false information, harshly stating that they deserved divine retribution for their actions. Shin Giru has been transparent about her health concerns, admitting during a previous appearance on MBC's 'Point of Omniscient Interfere' that she prioritizes regular health checkups due to her poor eating habits and lack of exercise, yet all her test results have consistently been normal.
As fake news targeting celebrities remains a growing problem, the public has been outraged by Shin Giru's experience.
