Investors Shift Funds to Europe from US, According to Euronext

According to Euronext NV Chief Executive Officer Stephane Boujnah, investors are shifting their focus to Europe due to the potential for increased government spending and a reassessment of US markets. Boujnah mentioned in an interview that the Trump administration's policies have caused significant market volatility, prompting a global transfer of funds to Europe where stock valuations are more favorable. The ongoing trade tensions and tariff uncertainties with the US are leading European firms to reconsider their investment strategies, viewing the country as undergoing significant changes.

European stocks have been performing better than those in the US, largely due to concerns about the impact of US tariffs on the economy. Despite the potential negative effects of a trade war, the flow of money into Europe has been hastened by expectations of substantial stimulus measures. Boujnah highlighted Germany's upcoming vote on a bill that could unlock significant funds for defense and infrastructure projects, signaling a shift towards a more expansive fiscal policy.

The CEO expressed confidence that IPO activities would bounce back as the market stabilizes. Some companies, such as Stada Arzneimittel AG, have postponed planned IPOs due to recent market fluctuations. Boujnah disclosed a positive outlook for IPOs this year, mentioning discussions with firms that had been considering listing in the US but are now reevaluating their plans due to the current market conditions.
