Starship Entertainment has launched the much-anticipated show 'Debut's Plan' to choose the members for their upcoming boy group. The first episode of the show, released on March 17, introduced 21 contestants vying for a spot in the debut group 'NewKids'. Prior to the premiere, Starship teased the show with a video on their YouTube channel, capturing the trainees' genuine reactions as they entered the training dome.
In the inaugural episode, Starship Entertainment outlined the selection process for picking the group members. The decision-making involves both board members and viewers participating in each round to choose the members. The board consists of various departments within Starship Entertainment, aiming to support the growth of the trainees.
'Debut's Plan' features five plans where the trainees compete for seven coveted spots in the new boy group. What sets this show apart is the requirement for alignment between the members chosen by viewers and the executive board. The criteria explained that if the seven NewKids chosen by both viewers and board members match perfectly, they will proceed to the debut stage. However, if there are disparities between the choices, eight to sixteen NewKids will advance to the final debut assessment stage.
The quest to form Starship Entertainment's newest boy group has set off, and fans can catch the show's first episode to follow the selection process. Additionally, another project, 'Our Ballad,' created through a collaboration between SBS and SM Entertainment, was also recently announced.
