Lefty Gunplay was taken into custody at the Rolling Loud event over the weekend due to a serious felony charge and now he is being held on a $500,000 bond.
Lefty Gunplay missed his highly anticipated Rolling Loud performance on Sunday (March 16) after being detained by authorities on a mysterious felony warrant just moments before he was supposed to take the stage, adding another troubling development to the rapper's tumultuous month.
The up-and-coming Hip-Hop artist, scheduled to perform at 5:45 p.m. on the D'USSÉ Stage at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California, was instead escorted away by law enforcement officers, surprising and bewildering the audience.
Video footage circulated on social media platforms showing his backstage arrest by the LAPD at Rolling Loud while he was on his way to perform.
The festival organizers confirmed the incident and announced that Lefty Gunplay would not be able to perform due to unforeseen circumstances.
He is currently held on a significant $500,000 bond, but the specific details of the felony charge against him have not been disclosed.
This recent encounter with law enforcement marks Lefty Gunplay's second arrest in less than a month. In a previous incident on February 24, 2025, he was taken into custody during a routine traffic stop near 6351 Gateway West in El Paso, Texas.
During the stop, authorities found drugs in the vehicle driven by Rennell Cordova, and during a subsequent body scan at the El Paso County Detention Facility, approximately 64.96 grams of methamphetamine were also discovered hidden on Lefty Gunplay.
He was able to post bail of $35,000 and secure his release on the same day after the Texas drug possession charges.
However, the drug-related allegations in Texas are serious and could lead to severe penalties, including potential imprisonment for up to 20 years and fines of up to $10,000 if he is convicted.
Lefty Gunplay was gaining popularity, particularly after his feature on Kendrick Lamar's well-received GNX album. His collaboration with Lamar, "TV Off," quickly rose on the music charts, peaking at number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
This track further established Lefty as a rising star in the Hip-Hop scene.
His upcoming court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday (March 18).
