Kim Sae Ron's family has accused Kim Soo Hyun and Gold Medalist agency of isolating the late actress. The family's legal representative, Bu Ji Seok from the law firm Buyou, held a press conference at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and filed a defamation complaint against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho for spreading false information.
During the press conference, Kwon Young Chan, the head of the Korea Celebrity Suicide Prevention Association, stated that Kim Sae Ron attempted to communicate with Gold Medalist but was unable to reach Kim Soo Hyun or anyone else in the agency, leaving her feeling secluded. He mentioned that when she uploaded photos with Kim Soo Hyun, she was asked to take them down promptly, followed by a legal notice the next day threatening financial responsibility if she contacted the agency or caused harm to the drama 'Queen of Tears'.
Lawyer Bu Ji Seok emphasized that the agency's actions contradicted Kim Soo Hyun's statement of 'breach of trust,' revealing that the legal notices demanded repayment of a debt within a deadline and prohibited any contact with the agency or its actors. The second notice explicitly warned the deceased not to communicate with Kim Soo Hyun or Gold Medalist members and threatened legal action regarding released photos, causing the actress significant distress before her passing.
On February 16, Kim Sae Ron was found deceased, and subsequent allegations on March 10 suggested that Kim Soo Hyun was involved in a relationship with her when she was a minor. It was further disclosed that following her DUI accident, the agency pressured her to pay 700 million KRW in damages, leading to financial difficulties. Gold Medalist refuted claims of abandonment and stated that the relationship with Kim Sae Ron began after she turned 18.
