Actor Kim Soo Hyun is currently facing controversy over allegations of having a relationship with Kim Sae Ron when she was underage. The debate has intensified with the emergence of supposed evidence supporting their connection.

On March 17, an old photo from 2017, initially shared by a Kim Sae Ron fan, resurfaced on the internet. The picture shows Kim Sae Ron in a black long padded jacket standing in front of an elevator. Behind her, a person believed to be Kim Soo Hyun is seen wearing a red padded jacket and holding an object in their hand.

Despite the individual facing away from the camera, making identification tricky, fans pointed out similarities in physical features to suggest it was Kim Soo Hyun. Speculations and comments from fans included remarks like "From just the ears and head shape, this certainly looks like Kim Soo Hyun. Fans would easily recognize him," "Kim Soo Hyun will likely remain in the limelight for a long time," and "It is said that Sae Ron was with her mother without a manager during that time... It appears to be him, with a slight chance it could be someone else."

Previously, claims emerged that Kim Soo Hyun, 12 years older than Kim Sae Ron, was in a relationship with her since 2015 when she was still a minor. The situation raised concerns about a potential "grooming" scandal involving Kim Soo Hyun.

Initially denying the allegations, Kim Soo Hyun eventually admitted to his relationship with Kim Sae Ron but clarified that it began only after she reached adulthood. In response to the mounting pressure and release of additional photos, an official statement was issued by Kim Soo Hyun on March 14.

The actor's agency also addressed the situation, stating, "Kim Soo Hyun displayed signs of severe emotional distress in the early morning, and we have arranged for him to take a break and recuperate."

Subsequently, Kim Sae Ron's family expressed displeasure towards both Kim Soo Hyun and YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, demanding an apology from them.
