Wendy Williams faced a shocking turn of events when her assisted living facility called the police following a dinner outing with her niece.

According to TMZ, staff at The Coterie contacted the NYPD on Wednesday night to file a police report after Williams' niece, Alex Finnie, treated her to a celebratory dinner upon her recent hospital release.

Initially, the evening started off smoothly as a Coterie attendant escorted the pair to the lobby for their Uber ride. However, things took a negative turn when the facility accused Finnie of violating rules by taking Williams out without authorization.

Upon their return, Williams and Finnie were left bewildered by the facility's sudden objection to their excursion. Williams even described the situation involving the police report as "unbelievable."

Speaking to reporters post-incident, Williams expressed frustration with the conflicting accounts presented by her guardian's attorney and The Coterie. She emphasized feeling restricted despite being told she had freedom to socialize outside the facility.

Despite claims of excellent medical care and various amenities at The Coterie, Williams perceived the incident as a form of mistreatment and deceit on the part of her guardian.
