Singapore-based cryptocurrency company Crypto.com has made waves in the industry by securing full approval of its Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license from the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) on January 27.

As the first major global crypto asset service provider to receive in-principle approval for a MiCA license, Crypto.com has set a new standard for compliance under the EU’s MiCA regulation, focused on promoting transparency, security, and safeguarding consumers within the cryptocurrency sector.

Having received preliminary approval earlier in January, Crypto.com recently unveiled the official confirmation of its full MiCA license in an announcement via its official X account. This milestone allows the company to offer services throughout the entire European Economic Area (EEA) in compliance with a robust regulatory framework, ensuring enhanced transparency and reliability in the industry.

Eric Anziani, President and COO of Crypto.com, expressed their commitment to regulatory compliance and the significance of this achievement, stating, “Securing a MiCA license has been a major priority for us in recent years, and receiving this approval further cements our continued commitment to being the most compliant and regulated crypto platform globally.”

This authorization positions Crypto.com as the pioneer global crypto asset service provider authorized to operate across the EEA, emphasizing the company's dedication to providing top-tier cryptocurrency services within a regulated environment.

Markets in Crypto-assets (MiCA) is a pivotal regulatory framework governing the cryptocurrency market in the EU, aimed at establishing standardized rules for companies operating with crypto assets across the EEA. Obtaining a MiCA license is crucial for cryptocurrency companies aspiring to operate legitimately within one of the world’s largest financial regions, enabling market access, boosting investor confidence, and fostering long-term industry growth.

Crypto.com's attainment of the MiCA license adds to its list of existing licenses and registrations worldwide, underscoring its position as a trusted platform serving over 100 million users globally. With a strong reputation and a continuous focus on regulatory compliance, Crypto.com is poised for further growth and expansion in the cryptocurrency space, exemplified by recent initiatives like the launch of the Crypto.com Exchange for US-based investors.
