Minnie from the popular girl group (G)I-DLE set the record straight on rumors surrounding her family's wealth in a candid video shared on the YouTube channel CU on January 28. In the video titled "Minnie and Miyeon’s Honest Talk: Revealing the Truth About Each Other," the two members engaged in a conversation that addressed the speculations.

During the discussion, Minnie tackled the rumors that labeled her as a Thai heiress, which had been circulating online due to photos of her parents' lavish Thai mansion shared on her Instagram. She clarified, "We do live comfortably, but my parents didn't fully support me financially. I don't rely on their money."

Teasingly, Miyeon interjected, pointing out Minnie's rich-themed lyrics in the song "MY BAG" and asking if that was her personal concept. To this, Minnie explained, "Soyeon wrote those lyrics. I always say I need money. I act according to the song’s concept, but in reality, I need money too."

In a light-hearted exchange, Miyeon remarked, "Even if you have money, humans always need more," to which Minnie humorously responded by emphasizing the importance of money and playfully pretending to count cash, stating, "I need a lot of money."

Following Minnie's recent solo debut with her first mini-album 'HER' on January 21, her fans have appreciated her honest and humorous approach to the rumors. Embracing Minnie as both a solo artist and a group member, supporters continue to rally behind her as she promotes her new music.
