Kim Soo Hyun, the popular actor recently caught up in controversy surrounding his past relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron during her teenage years, is reportedly stepping down from the MBC variety show 'Good Day.'
As reported by Maeil Business Newspaper on March 12, the filming for 'Good Day' scheduled on March 13 will not see Kim Soo Hyun present, despite being a key member of the cast. Discussions are ongoing on how to handle his pre-taped segments from February 27. Given the escalating public outcry over his personal issues, it appears challenging for him to continue his appearances on mainstream TV entertainment programs.
'Good Day' is a music project featuring collaborations with G-Dragon and various artists to create the hottest track of the year. The show also marks PD Kim Tae Ho’s return to MBC and G-Dragon’s first regular appearance on a variety show post his latest music release.
Kim Soo Hyun joined '88s', a group that also includes Hwang Kwanghee, Lee Soo Hyuk, Jung Hae In, Im Si Wan, and G-Dragon, through his connections and became a prominent member. However, recent allegations linking him to the late Kim Sae Ron have led to a barrage of public backlash, demanding his removal from the program.
The controversy stems from claims made by the Garosero Research Institute, representing Kim Sae Ron's family, suggesting an inappropriate relationship between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron. Allegedly, the two were romantically involved for six years starting in 2015, when Kim Sae Ron was only 15 years old and Kim Soo Hyun was 27. The situation escalated with allegations of coercion and improper handling by individuals associated with the late actress.
Despite strong denials and intentions to take legal action against the accusers by Kim Soo Hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, additional details and evidence have been released by Garosero, including intimate photos and messages between the two. However, the agency stands by their initial stance amidst the ongoing controversy.
In light of these developments, Kim Soo Hyun's departure from 'Good Day' appears imminent, prompting necessary adjustments in the show's content. This incident has stirred significant attention online, with netizens closely following the unfolding events.
