INFINITE's Sungjong Emerges Victorious in Lawsuit Against Former Agency for Unpaid Settlement Fees
Sungjong, a member of the renowned K-pop group INFINITE, has achieved a significant legal victory in a lawsuit against his ex-management company for failing to fulfill settlement obligations.
The dispute stemmed from the exclusive contract Sungjong inked with SPK Entertainment, spearheaded by CEO Kim Seung Pil, in August 2022. Despite commitments to provide a signing bonus and essential backing for various activities like TV appearances, fan gatherings, and music releases, Sungjong alleged that these promises remained unfulfilled.
Facing continued silence from SPK Entertainment despite his efforts to address contract infringements, Sungjong took the decisive step of terminating the agreement. Subsequently, a legal injunction allowed him to pursue independent endeavors while the conflict unfolded.
In addition to his personal contract grievances, Sungjong pursued compensation for outstanding earnings linked to INFINITE's collective projects, YouTube ventures, and a Japanese fan event spanning a two-year period. Following an extensive legal battle, the court sided with Sungjong on February 28th, compelling SPK Entertainment to settle the dues along with accruing interest as prescribed by law.
Furthermore, amid these legal developments, INFINITE staged a triumphant return to the music scene with their latest mini-album, 'LIKE INFINITE,' dropping on March 6th KST. The group is gearing up for their 15th-anniversary celebrations with 'LIMITED EDITION' encore concerts slated for April 12th and 13th at Inspire Arena in Incheon, offering a memorable moment for fans to reconnect with the beloved ensemble.
