Nearly three decades ago, Christopher Wallace, famously known as The Notorious B.I.G., was fatally shot in Los Angeles at the young age of 24. Even after all this time, the mystery surrounding his murder continues to captivate the music world.

The drive-by shooting, which occurred as Biggie was leaving a party following the Soul Train Music Awards, sparked a series of theories and suspicions. The incident further fueled the East Coast–West Coast Hip-Hop rivalry, compounded by the earlier loss of Tupac Shakur.

Despite years of speculation and investigations, including accusations implicating figures like Suge Knight and Amir Muhammad, no one has been formally charged in connection with Biggie's death. The case remains open, shrouded in mystery and controversy.

The recent passing of Biggie's mother, Voletta Wallace, adds another layer of sorrow to this somber anniversary. Voletta, a pivotal figure in preserving her son's legacy, passed away in Pennsylvania at the age of 78, leaving behind a void in the Hip-Hop community.
