Setting the record straight to his 2.5 million Twitter followers, NLE Choppa stated, "Never been gay baiting. It’s me showing freedom." He expressed his comfort in his own skin and self-assuredness in how he is designed, emphasizing, "I am a straight man comfortable in my skin, I AM."
Emphasizing his self-love and creative exploration, NLE Choppa reiterated, "I am not a gay baiter because I posted a selfie in the mirror showing off how beautiful I am." He clarified that his posts are not meant to pander, but rather to celebrate his God-given attributes that appeal to both his female and LGBTQ+ audience.
