Source Music vehemently denies NJZ's accusations of unfair treatment by HYBE in comparison to LE SSERAFIM, dismissing the claims as "irresponsible and serious wrongdoing."
In an official statement released on March 7, Source Music set the record straight on the alleged misinformation surrounding the agency and its artists.
During a courtroom session on the same day regarding ADOR’s plea against NJZ members signing with other agencies, NJZ's legal representatives alleged various issues with HYBE, including media manipulation, plagiarism allegations, exclusion from major plans, and conflicts with external partners escalating between 2023 and 2024.
NJZ's representatives pointed to what they perceived as discriminatory treatment, specifically highlighting HYBE's dealings with LE SSERAFIM. They asserted that NJZ faced neglect after their debut evaluation in March 2021 while LE SSERAFIM debuted earlier without explanation.
NJZ’s camp also claimed discrimination in the brand ambassador selection process, citing instances where LE SSERAFIM was appointed without prior consultation with NJZ.
In response, Source Music clarified that LE SSERAFIM's ambassador appointment was an independent process that began in April 2022, unrelated to any other artist.
The agency refuted NJZ’s allegations with "objective evidence" and readiness to provide legal explanations. Moreover, they addressed false information spread by Min Hee Jin and filed a lawsuit against her to address the fabrications.
Source Music expressed disappointment over NJZ's one-sided claims and emphasised their commitment to setting the record straight through legal avenues. They criticized referencing LE SSERAFIM in the dispute, deeming it an irresponsible act that could harm the artists and mislead the public.
In their closing remarks, Source Music reiterated their dedication to resolving the situation through appropriate legal channels.
